Током 2018.године на површинском копу “Гарајевац исток” изведена су хидрогеолошка истраживања у циљу утврђивања хидрогеолошких својстава заступљених литолошких чланова. Утврђено је да се у кровини и подини опекарских глина налазе ситнозрни, прашинасти и заглињени пескови. Да би се ушло у дубински захват другог алевритско – глиновитог комплекса било је потребно одводнити кровинске алевритске пескове. Крајем 2020. године почела је изградња дренажних објеката који омогућавају захватање дубљих партија опекарских глина које до сада нису ископаване због присуства заводњених слојева у кровини тих глина. Ово је најчешћи случај са површинским коповима опекарске глине на територији Војводине. Досадашњом праксом експлоатисан је само први слој глине испод хумуса и са појавом поџемних вода напуштала се експлоатација по дубини. Применом овог техничког решења смањују се трошкови куповине земљишта, потпуно се експлоатишу резерве опекарске глине и смањује се деградација пољопривредног земљишта. In order to achieve the continuity of production, depending on the remaining raw material reserves in the "Garajevac istok" deposit, the need to exploit the deep productive layer of clay was imposed. During 2018, hydrogeological investigations were carried out at the "Garajevac istok" surface mine in order to determine the hydrogeological properties of the lithological members represented. It has been established that there are fine-grained, dusty and clayey sands in the top and bottom of the brick clays. In order to enter the depth of the second siltstone-clay complex, it was necessary to drain the roof siltstone sands. At the end of 2020, the construction of drainage facilities began, which enable the capture of deeper batches of brick clays that have not been excavated until now due to the presence of watered-down layers in the roof of those clays. This is the most common case with surface mines of brick clay in the territory of Vojvodina. According to the previous practice, only the first layer of clay under the humus was exploited, and with the appearance of groundwater, exploitation by depth was abandoned. By applying this technical solution, the cost of land purchase is reduced, brick clay reserves are fully exploited and the degradation of agricultural land is reduced.
