o:8299 Почеци митрополијске организације Српскецркве у средњем веку sr Премда историјски постулирано, тематско истраживање уво- ђења митрополијско гсистемауСрпскуцрквусредњовековног раздобља, тј. након проглашења српско-грчког царства цара Душана, контексту- ализовано је у односу нарегулативецрквенихканонаи појединачних правила о јерархијској и организационој структури цркве, донетих на васељенским и помесним црквеним саборима. Из ове перспективе посматрају се процеси:проглашења царства, арондације епархија кроз однос цара Душана са Светом Гором, као и према затеченој јерархији на освојеним територијама, нереорга- низације на подручју наслеђеног краљевства. У методолошком смислу, истраживање се темељи на критичком сагледавању извора и упоређивању савремених докумената и догађаја, при чему се ни један податак не може занемарити, како би се стекла комплекснија слика стварних активности напољуцрквене(ре)организацијеиобјективнијиувидуканонскисукоб ЦариградскеиновопроглашенеСрпскепатријаршије.Измеђузаконо- давнихакатаиподразумевајућецрквенепраксе,какосенаосновунеких докуменатаичиноваслути,постојаојеиизвеснидисбаланс,наоснову којегпостајејаснодасеобјективнасликанеможе(ре)конструисатина искључивости већ на пажљивом лавирању историјских чињеница и увида у њихову усаглашеност са црквеним канонима. The starting point of the thematic research on the introduction of the metropolitan system after the proclamation of Stefan Dušan as emperor and the elevation of the Serbianarchbishoprictotherankofpatriarchateisrecognizedinthemeasurementof theabove-mentionedeventsaccordingtothecanonsandecclesiologicalpracticeofthe OrthodoxChurch.Startingfromtheinterpretationoftheissueoftheruler’stitularand Dušan’s attitude towards it, as well as his pragmatic approach to state policy, his state and churchstrategyisanalyzed.Sincethisgeopoliticalchangealsodeterminedthefuture characterofthechurchorganization,violatingtheByzantinerhetoricalprincipleof“one emperor,onepatriarch,”aconflictarose,theecclesiasticalaspectsofwhichrepresenta thematicoccasionforacriticalexaminationofwrittensourcesandtheirmutualcom- parisonwiththeaimofgaininganobjectivepictureofthechurchreorganizationwithin theframeworkofDušan’sempire.AftertherelationsandrightswiththesacredProtate of Mount Athos were regulated and confirmed by a contract, which confirmed their independence,thediocesanarrondationoftheterritoryoftheinheritedkingdomwas initiated, which implied the elevation of some significant diocesan centers in cities such as Skopje and Prizren to the rank of metropolitanate, superior to regional bishops but also titularmetropolitans.Theterritorialarrangementofthemetropolitanatesandbishoprics was accompanied by a “political dilution,” i.e., state-administrative reorganization. Given that the issue of the Metropolitanate of Braničevo under the Constantinople Patriarchate and then the Serbian Patriarchate has been extensively researched in domestic scientific literature,itwasusedtoexaminetheglobalphenomenonofchurchorganizationbased onthemetropolitansystem,aswellastherelationshipbetweenthetwochurchesatthat time.SpecialattentionwasalsopaidtotheMetropolitanateofSerresanditsjurisdiction, anditwasconcludedthat,apartfromthefactthatSerbswereappointedasmetropolitans, therewerenochangesintermsofjurisdictioncomparedtotheprevioussituation.In doingso,withtheexceptionoftheprivilegesofthePatriarchateofConstantinoplebased onthe2ndruleoftheSecondEcumenicalCouncilestablishing“ethnicbishoprics,”the sacredcanonsoftheecumenicalandlocalcouncilsonchurchorderwererespected,but theunwrittenByzantinerulesontheRomanizationofbarbarianpeoplesthroughethnic churcheswerecalledintoquestionbyDušan’schurchreforms.Therightofordination andelectionofthe“firstbishop”(fromamongthemselves)oftheSerbianChurch,on theotherhand,wasconfirmedbackin1219whenitacquiredautocephaly.Basedon insightintotherelevantsourcesaswellasthelogicofDušan’sinterests,therefore,the claimofDanilo’sfollowersabouttheexpulsionofGreekmetropolitansisquestioned, with the assumption that it was a matter of Byzantine populist propaganda. The primary goalofintroducingthemetropolitansystemintotheSerbianChurchcanbestatedas theaspirationtowardstheunificationofthechurchorganizationthroughouttheentire territory of Dušan’s empire based on harmonizing the order in the areas of the “emperor’s lands” (conquered territories) and the “king’s lands” (hereditary kingdom), whereby the latter,aswellassomeformerborderareas,weresubjectedtoreorganizationintermsof churchorganization.
