  <dc:description xml:lang="eng">In this paper is gathered experiance of many years, on the use of gradons
as antierosion constructions, based on filed investigations of constructed gradons
through Serbia and on experimental investigations.
Observations of antierosion function and other beneficial effects of gradon
constructfon in nature during a period of a few years, are the best evidence of
correct or wrong selection of form and construction of gradons.
During these field tests which objective was to determine all essential elements
important for successful functioning as well as their economy, according
to their significance, the following elements were selected: distance among gradons,
form and dimensions of gradons in function of the slope. These elements
have been the object of further experimental investigations on sample plots (Fig.
2, 3, 4). Investigation on the field, and experimental investigations on sample plots during 2 years period, facilitated formation of basic constructive elements of
gradons in relation to the slope of field on which gradons were constructed. These,
the most appropriate construction ,elements of gradons are given in Table 9.
Also, method was created for. determination of optimal distance among
gradines on the basis of the following:
L = 3,0n (S+G/P+E) where:
L-means distance among gradons in m. measured on the slope of the field;
n - means exponent which depends to the slope and could be derived from
the equality;
n = 2 + (1-√I ) where I represents the slope of field in m;
S-means coefficent of pedological substratum (Table 10);
G - means coefficient of precipitation which depends upon the height of a
maximal daily presipitation (Table 12);
E- means coefficient of exposition (Table 13).
This paper is abstract from the post graduate thesis defended on March 18,
1971 at the Faculty of Forestry. The examination board was made up of the following
