o:7335 DEJSTVO GAMA - ZRAČENJA NA KLIJAVOST PLODOVA BUKVE I NA NEKE FENOTIPSKE KARAKTERISTIKE SADNICA PROIZVEDENIH IZ OZRAČENIH PLODOVA EFFECT OF GAMMA-IRRADIATION OF BEECH ACORNS ON GERMINATION RATE AND ON SOME PHENOTYPIC CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SEEDLINGS PRODUCED FROM THE IRRADIATED ACORNS sr Beech acorns irradiated with the doses of 500r, 1000r, 3000r, 5000r, 10000r, 16000r, 24000r and 32000r .(200 acorns of each variant) were sown in four repetitions in the greenhouse of the Institute of Forestry and Wood Industry. The changes which occured on the treated material had reflected on the germination rate of acorns, which with the increase of the irradiation dose showed a rather regular tendency of decrease, with a sudden decline by the dose of 24000r, while the dose of 32000r was 100% lethal. In the first year of vegetation some changes in the leafcolour, - shape and - size have appeared on the seedlings produced from the irradiated seeds, which grew up more intensive and more frequent with the increse of the irradiation dose. Later in the year and especially in the following year shoots with normal leaves have appeared from the new buds.
