The reservation is situated at the sea level of 640 to 800 m, on northeastern exposition, on acid-brown soil on chlorite- serite schists, belonging to the plant community of Fagus moesiaca montanum serbicum R u d., dentarietosum J o v. fac. alliosum ursini. The reservation shows a very high productivity. The current volume increment was more than 10 m3/ha and the total wood volume, beside the reduced number of trees, was 891 m3/ha.
