o:7308 PRILOG POZNAVANJU RAZVIĆA HERMESA NA SMRČI I MOGUĆNOST SUZBIJANJA CONTRIBUTION TO THE COGNITION OF CHERMES DEVELOPMENT ON SPRUCE AND POSSIBILITIES OF ITS CONTROL sr The experiment was laid out in order to study the development of Chermes on the spruce and the possibilities of its control. After three months from the beginning of observations the mean length of galls was increased for 36.36% and the width for 37.50%. The beginning of gall ripening took place between August 18 to November 28, 1988. The number of grown larvae per chamber moved from 8 to 12, the firs: flight of females was on September 6, and the first hatched larva appeared on September 23. Control of Chermes by gall treating with the preparation "Decis" 0.2%, 0.3% and 0.4% and with the preparation "Omite" 0.3% can not be recommended for application in practice.
