<dc:description xml:lang="eng">An investigation was made in field conditions about the possiblities of using
composted bark in containerized forest seedling production.
On the basis of the obtained results one can conclude that the substraum
made of composted bark is not toxic for plants, but its influence on coniferous
and broadleaved tree species was different. The coniferous species were more
depressed than the broadleaved ones. This investigation has opened a series of
questions concerning bark mixtures, which ought to be solved. First of all
should be necessary to establish the measures for improving physical properties
of bark substratum, especialy in plastic containers of smaller size.</dc:description>
