Theworkof Archbishop DaniloII,spicedwith theideaofmartyrdom,dynamicby character,isverymeaningfulanddecisiveinrelationtothemainhistoricaltrendsofthetimehe livedin,whenitcomestotheSerbianstateandtheChurch.Itrepresentsacomplexresearch substrate of importance for a deeper understanding of the period of consolidation of the statehood.Danilo'sworkdirectedsuchadevelopmenttowardstheByzantinesphere,butalso towardsdecisiveindependence, especially when itcomestothe crucialtheologicalcurrentsof thetime.Althoughithasalreadybeennotedthattheliterarysourcesdonotprovideabasisfor placingDaniloIIinthecircleofsignificanthesychasts,itisnecessarytopointoutthefactthat thestreamofpre-Palamitehesychasts,infact,hadnoambitiontosubjecttheirspiritualmood andaspirationstoamoreconsistenttheologicalinterpretation.Themoreconsistenttheological interpretation ocurred with St. Gregorius Palama, however, the analogy of Danilo's actions, describedbyhisbiographer,on thisoccasionrecognizedandmarkedas monasticpraxis,fully correspondtotheHolyFather's hesychasticprinciples.Firstofall,his monasticpraxisimplies extremeasceticism,inspiredby themysticaltheologyoftheearlyfathersandasceticsofthe church,butalsoitsabandonmentforthesakeofservingthepeople,i.e.stateinterests.When looking at the process of developmentofhistorical hesychasm in the 14thcentury, it canbe seen thatthesesamehermitslaterprovedtobegreatorganizersofchurchlifeandorganizationaswell as cultural reformers.
