<dc:description xml:lang="eng">The possibility of using industrial wood trash for production of oyster
mushroom was studied in laboratory conditions. The sawdust and bark of poplars
and beech were used.
On the basis of the experiment which was founded in eight variants, the
following results were obtained:
- The sawdust of broadleaved trees can be used as basic supstratum for
oyster mushroom production. The maximum production can reach 69% (minimum
11 %) of the total weight of the supstratum.
- The addition of bark to sawdust demands some CaCOa and gypsum to
attain the production of 60% of the total weight of the supstratum.
- The cycle of the development of the mushroom on the sawdust till the
stage of first fructification lasts 40 days. The fructification occurs three times,
in an interval of 20 days each.</dc:description>
