In the article are given the data about a black pine plantation, in which the appropriate tending measures were overdue. The age of the plantation is 18 years. It is grown on the site of Quercetum farnetto cerris R u d., on distric cambisol, which is characterized by a high content of sceleton (10-90%). The number of plants at the time of planting was 6.000 plants/ha, while at the time of observation it was reduced to 4.000 plants/ha. The previous cut. determined on the basis of the coefficient of asymetry a3 = 0,3653 and of flatness a4 = 0,1043 was qualified as a strong low thining. The total basal area was 29,3056 m2/ha and the total volume 75,7120 m3/ha. On the basis of site conditions and structural characteristics of the plantation, the S h e de l i n's selective thining has been recommended for further treatment.
