STIMULATION OF FLOWERING OF MALE CATKINS IN PERSIAN WALNUT (JUGLANS REGIA L.) sr With the aim to get a synchronized development of male and female flowers, enabling in that way hybridization of early- and lateflowering individuals, two methods of stimulation of male flowers were used in Persian walnut: - Isolated of branches with male catkins on standing trees, in order to obtain a more convenient microclimate for flower"s development inside the isolators and - Development of catkins and ripening of the pollen on cut branches, put in pots with water, at room temperature - method called ,,water cultures". Stimulation achieved by the first method, when both, plastic and natron- paper baggs were used, amounted to 4 days in average, with a maximum of 5 days. The method of water cultures gave better results.
