<dc:description xml:lang="eng">In the article are presented biological characteristic and health condition of Siberian elm , which introduced in Serbia from Kazahstan (USSR) in 1958.
The species proved itself to be fastgrowing (maximum diameter in the
24 years was 53 cm and the height up to 19 m), resistant to ,,holland disease", with good technological qualities of wood and a large spectrum of
possible uses in biomeliorative works. Therfore it may represent a very perspective
species for enrichment of forest reserves in Serbia.</dc:description>
