Teški metali se nalaze u raznim materijalima i često mogu biti zagađivači životne sredine, avo predstavlja sve veći problem širom sveta koji može uticati na zdravlje ljudi. Fitoremedijacija je altema- tivna metoda za remedijaciju zagađenih zemljišta, sedimenata i podzemnih voda zagađenih teškim met- alima uz pomoć biljaka Vrba je biljka koja maze da raste u sredinama koje su zagađene teškim met- alima i može apsorbovati određene teške metale kroz koren i na taj način ih eliminisati iz životne sredine. U ovom istraživanju je rađen eksperiment sa deset genotipova vrbe (7 rumunskih i 3 švedska geno- tipa) koji su uzgajani u suplementovanim solucijama sa četiri teska metala (Cu, Ni, Cd i Pb) i odredene enzimske aktimosti iz horenja istih radi procenjivanja eflkasnosti ove biljke u procesu remedijacije životne sredine. Iz klonova vrbe kolorimetrijski su testirane aktimosti peroksidaze (POX) i katalaze (CAT) na talasnimim dužinama 1=470 nm i 1=570 nm, redom. Dobijeni rezultatipokazuju da enzimske aktimosti variraju u zavisnosti od genotipa vrbe i koncentracije metala sitplementovane sohicije u kojoj je biljka bila uzgajana, svakako eksperiment je pokazao da je vrba eflkasna u procesu jitoremedijacije.</ns1:description>

Heavy metals are found in various materials and can often be environmental pollutants, this is a growing problem all around the world that can affect human health. Phytoremediation is an alternative approach for remediation of soils, sediments and groundwater polluted by heavy metals with the help of plants. Willow is a plant that grow in areas contaminated by heavy metals, it absorbs certain heavy metals through the roots and thus eliminates them from the environment. In order to evaluate the efficiency of willow in process ofphytoremediation an experiment was performed In the laboratory, ten genotypes of willow (7 Romanian and 3 Swedish genotypes) were grown in media supplemented with four heavy metals (Cu, Ni, Cd and Pb) and certain enzymatic activities from their roots were analyzed Peroxidase (POX) and catalase (CAT) activities were assayed through the colorimetric method at wave- lenght 1=470 nm and 1=570 nm, respectively. The obtained results show that enzymatic activities vary depending on the analyzed willow genotype and the metal concentration of the supplemented solution in which the plant was grown. The experiment showed that willow is efficient in the process of phytoremediation.</ns1:description>
