o:1334 Стара Србија у жижи интересовања аустроугарске и руске дипломатије на прелазу из XIX у XX век Old Serbia in the focus of interest of Austria–Hungarian and Russian diplomacy in the transition from the 19th into the 20th century sr Апстракт: У раду се указује на значај Старе Србије која је након Берлинског конгреса 1878. године и даље остала под османском влашћу. Период који је уследио након тога био је обележен страдањем српског становништва од стране Арбанаса чији су поступци често били подстрекивани споља. Бројни примери указују да је у томе предњачила Аустроугарска која је у ремећењу реда на терену видела интерес за остварење свог циља који је био садржан у начелу Drang nach Osten. Насупрот њој, стајала је Русија која је у зависности од обавеза и заузетости на Далеком истоку готово увек била присутна на простору Старе Србије. Представници двеју најмоћнијих држава тог доба су активно били укључени у збивања на терену и ангажовање њихове дипломатије знатно је утицало на развој односа османских власти и становништва које је живело на том простору. Иако су Русија и Аустроугарска 1897. потписале уговор о очувању status quо–а, а затим и споразум у Мирцштегу о реформама у Турској октобра 1903. године, свака од њих је имала своје интересе које је настојала да оствари. Међусобни споразуми били су израз политичко–дипломатске супрематије двеју великих сила, од којих су у знатној мери зависили многи процеси политичког развоја, првенствено у Старој Србији. Ривалство две „вековне непријатељице“ ће се из године у годину појачавати и кулминирати сукобом у Првом светском рату. Summary: Old Serbia, to which as per Jovan Cvijić, belonged Raška, Kosovo and Metohija, thus former Kosovo villayet and Skopsko-tetovska region, was getting more importance after the Berlin Congress 1878. This region for the representatives of great powers at the end of the 19th and at the beginning of the 20th century had been a main polygon for the settlement of mutual quarrels which influenced the development of the events for the dominance in the Balkan. That period was marked with the sufferings of Serbian population from Albanians whose acts were spurred from outside. Numerous examples say that the role of Austria-Hungary was of primordial importance, which saw in the disturbance of order in the field the interest for its aim achievement which included the breakthrough toward East and reach of warm seas. Contrary to it there was Russia, which, depending on the duties and occupations in the Far East, was always present in the area of Old Serbia. Representatives of the two most powerful states of that time were actively included in the events in the field and engagement of their diplomacy and considerably influenced the development of relations of Osman’s authorities towards the population living in that area. Although Russia and Austria-Hungary signed 1897 the contract on the preservation of status quо, afterwards the agreement in Mürzsteg on the reforms in Turkey in October 1903, each of them had its interests which tried to achieve. Diplomats of the two contending parts which had their service in Old Serbia as the integral part of Osman’s Empire, implemented the politics of their states which had a crucial role for the survival of Serbian population at that area.
